Insects prefer (bilateral) flowers – A study recently published in Science suggests that the bilateral symmetry of floral patterning has been selected repeatedly throughout evolution because of the preferences of insect pollinators.

Who needs Bigfoot? – Dr. Hurum and Hans Nakrem of Oslo’s Natural History Museum report on the finding of giant sea monsters that roamed the earth in the time of the dinosaurs. Also, evidence that camels the size of elephants once existed in ancient Syria.

  1. Cool blog. I especially like the story on space lettuce. It combines two of my favorite things: sustainability and space exploration :)
