In a complete departure from our normal plant science news stories, we decided to instead bring attention to a new video game (available only for Playstation 3, alas) called “Flower”. Described as “the video game version of a poem”, it left one reviewer feeling “relaxed, peaceful, and happy!”
Your job is to…be a flower. The strategy? As the instructions say (according to an article in Slate Magazine): “[T]ilt the controller to soar; press any button to blow wind; relax, enjoy.” Hm. No monsters to kill, no score to keep…sounds like a game any contemplative gardener or over-stressed employee would enjoy!
